Amazon Timestream for LiveAnalytics maps to Azure Data Explorer (or Eventhouse in Microsoft Fabric), which runs on the same engine. Timestream for LiveAnalytics closed to new customers on June 20, 2025, and AWS now steers new workloads to Timestream for InfluxDB.
- Engine. Azure Data Explorer is a general log and telemetry analytics engine queried with KQL, with built-in time-series functions (make-series, anomaly detection, forecasting). Timestream for LiveAnalytics is a purpose-built time-series store queried with SQL.
- Operations. Timestream for LiveAnalytics is serverless. Azure Data Explorer runs on clusters you size (with autoscale), and Fabric Eventhouse runs on Fabric capacity.
- Status. Existing Timestream for LiveAnalytics customers can keep using it, but don't start new designs on it.
