Static and SSR web hosting with Git CI/CD Direct match
AWS Amplify Hosting maps to Azure Static Web Apps. Both build from Git, host on a global edge network, and create preview environments for pull requests.
- SSR. Amplify Hosting supports SSR frameworks (Next.js and others) on managed compute. Static Web Apps supports hybrid Next.js rendering and Nuxt, plus managed Azure Functions APIs or a linked backend (Functions, Container Apps, App Service, API Management).
- Auth. Static Web Apps has built-in authentication (Entra ID, GitHub) and role-based route rules. Amplify relies on Amplify Auth (Cognito) or app-level auth.
- CI/CD. Amplify runs its own build service. Static Web Apps uses GitHub Actions or Azure Pipelines.
